Terms of Service

Last updated: 26 May 2026

These terms govern your use of the website at vintagetruckparts.co.za and any purchase you make from Vintage Truck Parts Company (Pty) Ltd (“we”, “us”). By using the site or placing an order you agree to these terms. Please read them with our Buyer Protection Policy, Acceptable Use Policy and Privacy Policy.

Who we are

Vintage Truck Parts Company (Pty) Ltd is a South African dealer in parts and whole vehicles for vintage American trucks. You can reach us at info@vintagetruckparts.co.za.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into a contract in South Africa to place an order. The store is operated from South Africa and is primarily intended for customers within South Africa.

Accounts

We use passwordless email sign-in. Keep your inbox secure — anyone with access to it can sign in as you. Let us know immediately if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

One account per person. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information on your account, including the delivery address you enter at checkout.

Listings, descriptions and stock

We describe each part and truck as accurately as we can, including its condition. These are vintage and used items unless explicitly stated otherwise — wear, patina and minor imperfections are expected and are not defects. Photos are of the actual item, not stock photos.

Each listing is one specific item. Once it is sold, it is removed from sale. We may correct typos and pricing errors on a listing at any time; if an obvious pricing error has caused an order to be placed at the wrong price, we may cancel and refund that order before dispatch.

Orders and prices

Placing an order is an offer to buy. The contract of sale is formed when we confirm your order by email. All prices are in South African Rand (ZAR), include applicable taxes where displayed, and exclude delivery unless otherwise stated.

Delivery fees are calculated and shown at checkout. We deliver within South Africa.

Payment

We accept payment by:

  • Payfast — card and instant-EFT payments processed by Payfast (Pty) Ltd. Your order is marked paid once Payfast notifies us of a successful payment.
  • Manual EFT — pay by standard bank transfer to our account, then upload your proof of payment. We review and verify each proof within four business hours during operating days, after which your order is marked paid. Stock is held for a limited window pending payment; if no proof is received in time, the order may lapse and the stock returned to sale.

Dispatch and delivery

We dispatch paid orders within two business days and add a tracking number to the order. Delivery times depend on the courier and destination. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery.

Returns, refunds and your statutory rights

Your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008 (CPA) and other South African consumer law are not affected by these terms. In short:

  • You may return goods that are not as described, or that have a material defect we did not disclose, within a reasonable time (typically within six months for an implied warranty defect under CPA s56). We will repair, replace or refund.
  • You may cancel an electronically-concluded order within seven days of receipt under ECTA s44, subject to the exclusions in the Act. Return shipping in that case is at your cost; refund follows once the item is back with us in the condition we sent it.
  • We do not accept change-of-mind returns on parts that have been fitted, modified, painted or used in a vehicle.

See the Buyer Protection Policy for how to start a return or dispute.

Cancellations by us

We may cancel an order if the item is no longer available, the price was obviously wrong, payment cannot be verified, or we reasonably suspect fraud or abuse. In each case we will refund any amount already paid.

Acceptable use

By using this site you agree not to misuse it. See the Acceptable Use Policy for what is and isn't allowed.

Intellectual property

The site, its layout, copy and photographs are owned by Vintage Truck Parts Company (Pty) Ltd or used with permission. You may not copy, scrape, republish or use them commercially without our written permission. Brand names of vehicle manufacturers are referenced only to identify part fitment and remain the property of their respective owners.

Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms limits our liability where the law does not permit it to be limited (including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or our obligations under the CPA).

Subject to that, our liability for any claim arising from your use of the site or an order is limited to the amount you paid us for the affected order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — for example, loss of profit, loss of use of a vehicle, or vehicle downtime.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top shows when they last changed. The terms in force at the time you place an order are the terms that apply to that order.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa. The courts of South Africa have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or from your use of the site.
